How to Achieve Your Ideal Life and Truly Experience It

Chapter 1: The Awakening
After spending the last three months trying to coordinate schedules with numerous individuals, I’ve come to a significant realization.
Working with 50 different people across four time zones, all with tightly packed schedules and unexpected absences, has shown me the challenges of managing such a diverse group. This experience made me realize that I want to focus on building something meaningful and engaging in conversations that ignite my curiosity. My aim is to create a career that fuels my passion, even on the toughest days.
I’ve realized I don’t want to be trapped in endless meetings, trying to direct people who should already be aware of their responsibilities. Many of us instinctively understand that we don't want to endure a monotonous job for 40 years just to retire—only to wonder, "What comes next?"
Recently, Sahil Bloom, a well-known content creator, shared an insightful post on LinkedIn regarding retirement. He captured a truth that we often overlook: while we dream of a perfect retirement, the reality is often starkly different. Instead of waiting for that mythical moment, we should focus on creating a life that harmonizes work with personal relationships, hobbies, and experiences that bring us joy.
The concept is not about a binary before-and-after scenario, but rather a continuous journey of growth and fulfillment. This designed life path allows us to find happiness along the way through ongoing development. It’s crucial to understand that whether you’re young or old, there’s no such thing as falling behind when it comes to personal improvement.
Retirement isn’t an automatic transition at age 62; it requires careful planning and financial stability. As reported by CNBC, the workforce participation rate for individuals aged 65 to 74 was 25.8% in 2021, with projections indicating it will rise to 30.7% by 2031. Moreover, the participation rate for those 75 and older is expected to increase from 8.6% in 2021 to 11.1%.
Finding Your Niche
The term “niche” is often thrown around, with many arguing that lacking a specific niche is why some struggle to attract an audience. At times, having a niche can be beneficial, while other times it may feel limiting.
I eventually decided to focus on the niche of achieving success. Through this process, I discovered topics that genuinely excite me, including health and fitness, mindful living, creative pursuits, writing, and sustainable lifestyles. While these subjects may seem disconnected, they all contribute to our overarching goal of living a fulfilling life.
For me, my passions lie in writing, self-improvement, and sustainable living. I didn’t need anyone to guide me toward discovering this niche; it was something I naturally gravitated toward.
Building Your Empire, One Step at a Time
Every grand journey begins with a single step or a simple idea. As James Clear often emphasizes, if you improve by just 1% every day, by the end of the year, you will have improved by 37%.
The quickest way to establish a small media empire is through social media platforms. Choose one that resonates with you and master it. Consistently engage with your audience and share valuable content. Platforms like Medium, Instagram, TikTok, Substack, LinkedIn, and YouTube are excellent choices for this purpose.
Treat your endeavor like a startup, experimenting and learning at your own pace. When I began writing online two years ago, I made the mistake of sharing my efforts with friends and family, only to be met with skepticism and doubt. This feedback led me to question my abilities, making me wonder if I was cut out for this.
However, after writing consistently for over 1000 days, I’ve learned that there will always be people who may not support your endeavors. My family still struggles to understand my online writing journey.
So, if you’re just starting out, focus on your work quietly. There’s no need to showcase your subscriber counts or earnings. Just remain committed to your craft.
The essence of my efforts isn’t about following trends; it’s about pursuing a life where I control my time, engage in activities I love, spend quality moments with family, and nurture my creativity to open new doors.
I’m ready to continue working quietly and embrace whatever comes next. This is my path to a better life—one that offers freedom from self-imposed limitations.
