What if the decline of magic in our world correlates with humanity's transition to written communication? This notion raises the intriguing question: Did our ability to document experiences inadvertently disrupt the potential for magic to interact with quantum entanglement in ways we have yet to fathom?

In simpler terms, this concept resembles a zero-sum game, where one party's gain necessitates another's loss. To illustrate, if Team Red emerges victorious, Team Blue must face defeat—there's no middle ground.

Although I am not a theoretical physicist, my fascination with the subject compels me to ponder these ideas. Quantum mechanics explores incredibly small particles, and my understanding suggests that once quantum entanglement is observed, the entire phenomenon collapses.

Consider this: if the act of observation defines a previously unknown variable, does it mean that our development of literacy extinguished the magic that once existed? Imagine our ancestors, who relied on oral traditions, harnessing magical forces (or quantum energy) as instinctively as we manipulate soil.

In many respects, quantum mechanics operates like a zero-sum game itself—its principles hold true until we attempt to dissect them. Much like a washing machine or the light in your refrigerator, once you look too closely, things cease to function as expected.

If we maintain a written record of anything—including detailed accounts of how to enact our hypothetical magic—then the very magic we describe cannot sustain itself, particularly if it hinges on quantum mechanics.

In essence, our ability to explain how quantum manipulations influence physical laws becomes a barrier. Once we articulate these processes, their efficacy diminishes.

While ancient tales of magic might have been misinterpretations of scientific principles we now better understand—such as chemistry, botany, and engineering—my time spent immersing myself in the fantastical compels me to find parallels. This connection feels electric, reminiscent of a lightning strike, illuminating the intersection of magic and reality.

As one society evolves and begins meticulous record-keeping, another remains in touch with nature, still capable of performing remarkable feats. However, as the written record expands, the magic may falter.

Over time, the "civilized" have overshadowed the "natural," reinforcing our zero-sum game. Initial instances of magic persisted as civilization advanced, but each occurrence prompted documentation and analysis, gradually stripping away its mystery.

Perhaps our memories serve as too potent an observation, preventing the quantum magic I propose from unfolding. This could shed light on the importance of meditation, which allows individuals to gain control over their consciousness without erasing memories.

It’s conceivable that shamans and indigenous healers, trusted with these ancient secrets, possess the ability to quiet their minds sufficiently to protect their quantum "spells" from collapsing.

To me, this scenario illustrates a complex zero-sum game, where humans become the unpredictable elements. The outcome determines whether magic or technology prevails.

Regrettably, my studies in history, theology, and the occult have left me unprepared to delve further into this concept mathematically. Yet, the idea of crafting a compelling narrative around it intrigues me. What if, by stripping humanity down to its most basic tools—pen and paper—we could unveil a reality governed by different principles than those we currently observe?
