Tackle Household Chores
Simple tasks like washing dishes can engage your motor skills, leading to a more open mindset.
Clean Your Space
Movement increases blood circulation, which can enhance brain function and creativity.
Enjoy a Shower
Many of my article ideas have emerged during shower time; the warmth and movement are incredibly stimulating.
Relax in a Hot Bath
Soaking in water that exceeds 104°F (40°C) for about 15 minutes can trigger creative thoughts—keep a notepad handy!
Utilize a Sauna
Sitting in a sauna at temperatures above 181°F (83°C) for 15-30 minutes often leads to a flood of ideas; use a voice recorder to capture them.
Keep a Notepad by Your Bed
Many great ideas come to me as I drift off to sleep; jot them down immediately to expand upon them in the morning.
Take Out the Trash
A simple trip outside to dispose of garbage provides fresh air and movement, both of which are beneficial for your brain.
Go for a Walk
Similar to taking out the trash, walking outdoors increases oxygen flow to your brain and alleviates stress. Bring a phone or notepad to capture your ideas as they come.
These techniques have been my go-to methods for cultivating creativity and generating article topics on Medium consistently throughout 2024.
