I embarked on my journey into solopreneurship with an impulsive zeal. Trained to prioritize hard work and productivity, I soon realized that this mindset doesn't easily translate to self-employment. The initial three months were a blur of relentless effort; in reality, I was simply experimenting to see what might yield results.
Unfortunately, nothing worked.
Achieving overnight success is exceedingly rare. The probability of achieving significant results in just a few months is very low. I quickly discovered that my obsession with constant productivity led to severe burnout. What began as infrequent fatigue escalated to feeling overwhelmed every few days. Consequently, I had to reassess how I was utilizing my time and energy.
I began each day by jotting down three tasks I aimed to complete alongside my gratitude list. This approach served two main purposes:
- It established a baseline for what I needed to feel accomplished each day.
- It enhanced my ability to prioritize important tasks.
Like any strategy, this method has its limitations. I often find myself striving to accomplish more while balancing other life responsibilities. When you are on a mission that feels akin to survival, the urge to push yourself is strong.
That said, I've learned to be more in tune with my body's signals. Iโm now better at recognizing when I need to take a break, a significant improvement compared to last year. My focus on just three tasks each day has greatly contributed to this awareness.
